 This was inspired by miss  cause all her pokeart is so cute and just.. made me want to try Pokemon art too. ;w; TRADITIONALLY, TOO. So stop reading this and go watch Crys instead, she's too awesome. <333OH GOD LMFAO. <3 This is why I never do traditional art. B( It sucks to begin with, then I scan it and it's like.. pure crap. So last night I'm bored at home, doodling Arcanine horribly when ~corboy189 phones me. So I start complaining about how hard Arcanine is to draw, and I force him to tell me which one to draw instead. So he tells me to draw Haunter. So here it is. B( AND I DUNNO WHAT THAT IS IN HIS HAND. Like.. a shadow ball or something. I dunno it looks like crap. CRITIQUE IS REQUESTED FOR THIS CAUSE I KNOW SHIT-ALL ABOUT TRADITIONAL WORK Please give me advice about what I can do to smooth those ugly lines and just... how to make it look better. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. then your could of blended it and left no visible under white

ok now that I got that out of my system >w< I'm gonna make this as simple as I can.
1) its best to start out with your darkest darks no matter what traditional piccu your doing I can see where you colored darker with the pencil and the shadows are in the right place but when it comes to shading blue is your best friend but make sure you color the shadows with the normal color first (in this case the purple) then bring in the blue depending on how light or dark your normal color is will tell you what shade of blue to use (I use navy blue in most cases)
2) Use atleast 2 differ pencils to make each color. color pencils look best when you use more then one pencil to make the color like for example on my chara crescent for her hair alone I use red-violet, magenta, and orchid. and with all 3 of them I go over where the shading should be before bringing in the blue. Layering colors together make the colors come out stronger espically if you don't have anything to blend them with!
3) Which is the last step blending colors you do this with either a colorless blender or white color pencil just press hard on the colors until you start to see the spaces of white dissapear now this step is completely optional and your piccu will look just fine without it but if you're really going for that solid color do this and don't blend where you want there to be white. And of course you can use white paint for the highlights if they don't stand out well.
